July 21, 2013. Best night of my life. Ive gone to countless concerts and this, by far, was the best one ive ever been to. My friend and i stood in line since noon. 5 straight hours of standing, heat, and making new friends. First band member encounter was with Kyle Even from Breathe Carolina. He was busy so none of us bothered to ask for a picture. Ive seen them once before in 2010, last time they were in Boise. He was such a rad guy. An hour or so passes and i see Charles, Travis, and Danny walking down the street. Charles was vlogging. (Being a CTFxC fan since year 2, this was magical.) And again, we didnt bother running after them. Fangirling isnt my thing. band members have lives, they want to be able to walk down the street without getting jumped. (i so would have if i wanted to. Mostly for Charles.) a little bit after we saw them, new friend and i decided to walk to the gas station for water since we were all dying. We assumed that Danny, Travis, and Charles were far down the road so we didnt get our hopes high. As we were paying for our water, Danny walked around the corner with coffee. my heart was racinggggg. I wanted to fan girl, but i kept it calm and had a little conversation with him before we parted ways. We chatted about Charles and his seizure and about my “i love red heads” we the kings shirt. ;) We got back to the venue and waited some more. Doors opened at 6. We all sprinted to the bottom. VIP were there before us but i managed to squeeze between a couple girls to get barricade. THAT SIX HOUR WAIT WAS WELL WORTH IT. Of course, before any show we need to watch soundcheck and set up before music is actually started. More standing. Opening band was good! Reminded me a lot of Every Avenue. TRS was also good. Never listened to them much.Caught a guitar pick and a foam hand. Haha.   T. mills was awesome. I knew a few songs by heart of his. Mostly just the older ones.   Breathe Carolina. Holy fucking shit. I cant even explain how insane their set was. I was smiling the entire time. Sang lyrics at the top of my lungs, as loud as i possibly could. They were one of the main reasons why i went to that show. Ive seen them once before and this show topped that one. They put on the BEST show possible. Fog machines, rave lights, and two crazy motherfuckers playing music. Kyle is THE crazy motherfucker. jumping into the crowd, moshing with the crowd, crowd surfing, going all out on stage. I love him to bits. Breathe Carolina put on the best set last night. When it was all over, i got a set list. :)
Now, We The Kings. Once they got on stage, i cried. I cried and cried and cried.  Mostly because of Charles. I mean, you start to feel attached to someone you’ve been watching on YouTube for 3 years of their life. Everyday for 3 years. I cried for at least 3 songs. CHARLES TRIPPY IS REAL. haha. Thats all that was running through my head. I made a bracelet for Charles the night before. “ctfxc family”, my name and ID (for idaho) was on it. Including a little tag with my twitter name and a little message on it. I dangled it and made eye contact with him. He nodded and i tossed it at him. He took it and put it on the drum stage thing. a couple songs pass, i make eye contact with Charles again and point at my wrist, smiling. He goes back to get it and puts it around the neck of his bass. Which made me SO happy. before thr show, my friend challeneged me to toss it on the neck of his bass. Good enough, right? At this point, everything was going as planned. Everything was perfect. Little did i know, i was about to be the luckiest girl in the venue. Yoshi was setting up a small dinner table. I honestly had no idea what was going to happen. I didnt watch any videos prior to this show. The girl next to me started saying, “FRIDAY IS FOREVER! the girl that gets picked is so lucky!” Travis started pacing, girls reaching out to him, screaming his name. I was reaching out, but i was smiling like a fool. He picked me. He pin pointed me. Stood directly in front of me, looked in my eyes and pointed at me. My friends were screaming my name, telling me to jump the barricade. The security guard stopped me, telling me i had to be 21 to go on stage. the guy about to pull me out of the crowd told the security guard to let me go and that he’ll approve me. By this time, i threw my body over the barricade. The guy lifted me up on stage and all of a sudden i was on stage with Travis Clark. “whats your name?” “cassidy” “cassidy? Everybody say hi cassidy!” The entire venue screamed my name. “well cassidy, i see your shirt says you love red heads. So with that, would you like to go on a date with me?” I nodded and said yes as quickly and calmly as possible. It felt like he was proposing.. Haha. “stay right here, dont turn around.” He walked away and came back with FAKE FLOWERS. “theyre fake. So dont smell them.” The entire venue cracked up. Then it started, he started singing Friday is Forever. Coley was playing the keys. Travis grabbed my hand and lead me to a fake dinner set up with wine glasses and plates and a candle in the middle. Still singing to me. He gets up and twirls me out of my seat, and we go to the far left stage and start slow dancing. He put my arm up on his shoulder. His hand on my waist and his other hand holding the microphone. And my other hand on his waist, still holding the flowers. He twirled me and lead me to a fake car set up where we sat and drove with his arm around me. And he twirled me out of my seat again and we went slow dancing again. This time, closer than before. Our foreheads were leaned against each others and he was still singing to me. He twirled me one last time and kissed my cheek and the lights went black and the entire venue screamed.
Im not sure if the crowd is louder on stage or what, but that was the loudest they were that night.
I was lead off stage, almost falling down the stairs. I walked out the side curtain and i got nothing but good comments. “that was SO cute!” “youre so lucky!” “that was incredible!”
I honestly expected a ton of girls glaring and hating me. At least it wasnt Justin Bieber…
Im surprised i got my barricade spot back. From then on, i enjoyed the rest of the concert. fake flowers in hand, singing every lyric as loud as i could.
Im going to remember that night forever. Everything went as planned and even more than planned.
Nothing can top that concert.
